Recently Maxis announced that it will be offering FREE remittance service to the Philippines from Maxis M-Money to Globe GCASH for 2 weeks, beginning 30 September to 14 October 2009. This offer is made to facilitate the easy transfer of money from the Filipino community in Malaysia to loved ones back home who may be victims of the crisis-level flooding in Manila caused by typhoon Ketsana. Typhoon Ketsana hit the Philippines on 26 September resulting in the government declaring a state of emergency in Metro Manila nad 25 storm-hit provices.
